One of the finest books on Revelation is written by Dr. David Darnell, Greek and Hebrew scholar (Duke University), and a friend of all the Dead Sea Scroll scholars. He's 92 years old, a dear friend, and helps me teach our Revelation study on Tuesdays in Enid. Ray Summers’ (Baylor prof) 1951 commentary on Revelation WORTHY IS THE LAMB remains a good commentary on a symbolic idealism approach. Scot McKnight’s new release REVELATION FOR THE REST OF US is also good. This is not a new approach to interpreting the Apocalypse it just seems novel after living through recent American evangelicalism.
