Paul Pressler’s legacy lives on as the man who set the standard of “going for the jugular” for the conservative resurgence. It lives on in the lives he damaged through his lies and bitter attacks as a trustee of the SBC Exec Comm and the IMB. His enablers in the leadership of the conservative resurgence should ask forgiveness of God and the SBC.
Robert Morris is the only one responsible for this atrocious assault of an innocent girl. HE should have turned HIMSELF in to the police and confessed his crimes and taken proper accountability in prison for what HE did!!! I hold no blame for Cindy's father in this matter. Maybe you don't know what the process would have been like for Cindy to have had to deal with at that time and the repeating of the trauma, and revictimizing of herself to go through the court system to get justice. Or maybe you don't care. Put the blame where the blame belongs.
Such sad stories for all involved and so very sad for The Church.
Another sad episode is Johnny Hunt, who, if he has made any expression of regret, repentance, or taken measures for assuming accountability, I have not heard of it. That is even worse than those mentioned here who have at least personally acknowledged publicly their wrong-doing and have taken some measure of assuming responsibility for it.

Cindy’s father was responsible for going to the police. He did not protect her. He protected Robert Morris.
