I am very sympathetic to your position, and I am well aware the Persians are not Arabs.

I am sorry that Israel and Iran are at war, especially since we have often bee united.

How I pray that your prophetic vision for the overthrow of the demonic leaders in Iran will be overthrown by the combined forces in support of the "Persian" people, Wade.

I may have shared before on your former blog post, that when serving in "Thailand", of all places, a man from Persia came to a Baptist church in a resort city near me, asking to be baptized. He was on holiday there, saw the cross in front of the church and asked the Thai pastor to baptize him. The pastor could not communicate well enough in English to understand the man, so called me to help. After several hours of talking together to be sure the man from Iran knew what he was doing, he prayed to receive Christ and we baptized him in the nearby sea.

Amazingly, several months later, another came from Iran, totally unrelated to the former man, and again, after affirming he knew what he was doing, we baptized him. Throughout the next several years, one "Persian" after another showed up, none of them being connected with those previous people we had met. Seemingly, unrelated other than there being a special moving of God's Spirit in this manner. We baptized more than 20, like this, men and sometimes with their wives who came with them.

We learned through those brief times of fellowship how beautiful and special the Persian people are and how they despise the regime that oppresses the Gospel and persecutes the church there. We know of one of the men who we baptized and returned to Iran who was martyred, probably because he could not restrain himself from sharing the Gospel due to his passion and fervor for leading others in to the Kingdom.

The people of that land must hold a very special place in God's heart given the manner in which the power of His Holy Spirit is moving there to establish a mighty church, even though it must operate in a way that is very stealth and prudent in the manner in which it is growing. I love them and pray for them and ask God to continue to bless them with the power to boldly continue to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ in the face of such terrible adversity.
