Wade, your family is in our prayers. I did not know your father, but I can only imagine how miraculous his day is going today based on your description and testimony he had ❤️
Oh, Wade, Rose Mary and I have been praying for you and your family. This is a wonderful story. Want to hear the rest. But I will give one story from my experiences with your father. Having met him and been inspired by him when I was a new Christian in college, one thing was true about him that I have not seen in very many others. Every time I would see him over the many years, he was more Christlike than the last time. His growth in the Lord and HIS impact on him was always evident! So very grateful to have known him! Tell your mom that she has our condolences and prayers.
I am weeping as I write this, not because of Paul’s passing but because I wish I could have learned more from him. I’ve been his student online for over 2 years and learned much from him. I’m sad your dad is no longer in your presence but rejoicing with him being in the presence of YHWH. I see his face lit up with that smile. I know he is truly home. I pray Gods blessings on each of you, especially your sweet mom. You have been blessed abundantly and continue to share your dad through your own teachings.
Years ago, Paul Burleson led our church in it's last revival. After the last night service, he had to catch a plane, and left while someone dismissed the service in prayer. I followed him to the parking lot, yelling: "Come back Shane, we love you Shane." (Those words are from a boy how Shane had taken his father's place in a gun fight.)
I asked your father why Peter said you had to be baptized to be saved in part of the bible, but when he first preached to the Gentiles they received the Holy Spirit while he was still preaching. Your father said Peter was on a 'learning curve'.
A great and gifted pastor. He’ll be missed. Can’t wait to see him again.
That is beautiful. What a legacy he has left to his family and those he encountered in this life.
Fascinating. Simply fascinating!!
He was a great man! Praying for comfort and peace.
