I agree with several of your points, but the man is unfit for office. He cares mostly about himself, he is a dividing force in our country (not a uniting force), and he lacks the mental aptitude to comprehend the complex nature of the world we live in.
Understood. Disagreement is good in a society of civility. My specific question for you, Chris, is do you believe Kamala Harris has the mental aptitude to comprehend the complex nature of the world? If you do, great. I'm not trying to change your mind. I'm simply asking because at some point, a decision must be made between two candidates. Are the each the best each party could get? Probably not, but it's what we have been offered and from whom we must choose.
Pastor Wade, I appreciate your response, your thoughtfulness, and your passion. To answer your question… I don’t know how competent Harris will be as President. But I do know what Trump will be like. He gave us a four-year glimpse, and I’ll literally vote for anyone before I’ll support putting that man back in charge of the free world. As a 24 year military veteran, a Christian, a gun owner, and a lifelong Republican, it pains me beyond words to see his name on our party’s ticket. Our country has so much more to offer and deserves so much more. On the off-chance you’re looking for encouragement, I would absolutely love to see you get involved in national politics. In my world, character, integrity, authenticity mean something… those three words carry more weight than the 24 points you made, and Trump doesn’t know anything about those three words. We need someone who does. I look forward to seeing your name on the ballot.
Possibly. It's going to be rough for any President, no matter who. I would ask you to consider, Chris, that the "first term" of President Trump may not have been as bad as you imagine, especially since "the Russia hoax" (perpetrated to impeach Trump and built on lies), and the constant denigration of the President by his opponents during his term, may have led to a public perception that it was a "bad term." I recall no wars, no inflation, massive business growth, and a soaring economy - until COVID-19 hit. Then, the establishment perpetrated on the entire United States a lockdown, keeping liquor stores open and closing churches. In my mind, the only thing bad in the first term were not enough people of principle in positions in the administration. Maybe it will be different this time.
Pastor Wade, I think we'll have to respectfully disagree about the quality of President Trump's term in office, but I do thank you for your civil discourse and your broad invitation for people to read your article (even if they disagree with you as I do). If Trump wins the election next month, I'll support him as every American should support every president. But with the long-term health of our democracy at stake, I believe it's time to save the Republican Party... by voting against it.
Chris, your spirit is encouraging, your acumen is stellar, and your Christian love toward me (and those who disagree) is admirable. Thank you for modeling the KINGDOM for the rest of us - and, I could be wrong in my views, so please know I am listening to you. That said, I'm grateful for guys like you. You make me proud of being a member of Christ's Kingdom.

Thank you for this post. Well said in your usual articulate manner.
From one of my best friends in the world, this means the world.
