Many people measure wealth by dollars, falsely believing that the dollars they possess are wealth.
That’s only partly true.
A million dollars may seem like a lot of money to you, but if the owner of that million dollars has expenses of $100,000 a month, he’s ten months away from bankruptcy.
On the other hand, someone may have only $360,000, but if his expenses per month are just $3,000, he’s wealthier than the millionaire.
It takes the man with $360,000 and $3,000 a month in expenses ten years - not ten months (like the millionaire) - before he runs out of resources to sustain his family.
The $360,000 man with two-thirds fewer dollars and far less monthly expenses than the millionaire has true wealth.
Time is wealth.
The longer you can sustain yourself without income, the wealthier you are.
