SubStack Is Now Wade's Weekly Writing Site
On February 2, 2022, I began working full-time through Istoria Ministries, a 501(c)3 non-profit ministry organization that Rachelle and I founded ten years ago.
We’ve learned these last few months that we can’t maintain a non-profit without you.
Working full-time through Istoria’s has been extremely fulfilling. I only retired from pastoring a traditional church in 2022, but I’ve been working harder than ever.
I’m too young and have way too much passion to quit ministry.
Rachelle and I will continue to focus on Kingdom ministry through Istoria. I’ve made a decision not to run for U.S. Congress in 2024. We think that I can affect people and our culture more by continuing to do what I can through Istoria Ministries.
Whether speaking, writing, leading tours, teaching at churches, or hosting pastor/marriage retreats through Istoria Ministries, Rachelle and I are beginning to see the full potential of Istoria Ministries.
I want to help make His Story central to your story.
Jesus calls us, His followers, "salt and light" for this wounded and dark world.
Istoria is a Greek word that means "to ask or inquire." We get the English word story and history from the Greek Istoria.
The source of all knowledge is asking questions.
I will help you ask the hard questions and look to the Scriptures for answers. There are no “pat” answers, and frankly, what you often hear in institutional churches, on television, or at the coffee shop are cultural opinions - not the truth from the Hebrew (Old Testament) or Greek (New Testament) Scriptures.
When people are prevented from asking questions, personal liberty is lost. As Socrates knew, asking questions is the beginning of knowledge retention. An authoritative demand for conformity becomes the mother of tyranny.
As we ask questions about life, I wish to lead you to a deeper appreciation and reverential awe for what YHWH has done for - and in - His world we call home.
I want His Story - Jesus coming in the flesh, born in 4 B.C. in Bethlehem, died and rose from the dead in 30 AD outside Jerusalem - to become central to how you view the world. It’s not an accident we use B.C. - before Christ - and A.D (Anno Domini) - the year of our LORD.

After consultation with our Board of Directors at our last board meeting and after lengthy discussions with my wife, Rachelle, Istoria has decided to Launch Wade Burleson at Istoria Ministries on SubStack.
SubStack is a subscription service to obtain my writing and speaking content at Istoria Ministries.
A monthly subscription to Wade Burleson at Istoria Ministries will be $5.00 - the minimum SubStack allows a non-profit to charge. Paying for an annual subscription to Wade Burleson at Istoria Ministries is only $48.00 (a 20% discount).
The monthly price is about the price of a special coffee at Starbucks. I hope your enjoyment and learning through my SubStack exceeds your morning cup of Joe.
All subscriptions to Istoria’s SubStack page go to Istoria Ministries (our non-profit) to help us meet the modest annual budget for Istoria and are very secure.

Over the decades, the archives of my writing ministry, including thousands of blog articles on hundreds of subjects, will only be available to paid subscribers.
The hundreds of audio archives and outlines of my sermon series over the years will also only be available through a Founders Subscription to Istoria Ministries SubStack ($150). Pastors and teachers who use this site understand the value of the outlines and audio messages. With your subscription, you can use the outlines as you please, including printing for distribution, with credit for the content to Istoria.
Weekly Istoria newsletters from me, archived blogs, and podcasts will be available to paid subscribers to Wade Burleson at Istoria Ministries on SubStack.
I would encourage everyone to download the SubStack app. I’ve found that is the best and easiest way to read what I write or to listen to a podcast.
The Board of Istoria understands that our non-profit will not be financially viable within a year or two without subscriptions for Istoria content. I appreciate their wisdom and pushing me in this direction.
Rachelle will soon begin working part-time at Istoria as our Director of Special Projects.
Istoria Ministries will release The 12 Days this October 31, 2023. The colorful coffee-table, hardbound book, with Alice Isaac’s original artwork will show the Good News of God’s love through the classic Christmas song, The 12 Days of Christmas.
We have two additional books, one on Jonah and the other a two-volume set on Revelation, written by our resident Hebrew scholar, Dr. David Darnell.
We’re getting in the groove with publishing.
But my “bread and butter,” so to speak, is my regular writing and podcasting.
I intend to write even more through Istoria’s SubStack, and over time, all previous posts will be transferred to this platform and not be available online anywhere else.
With the help of many friends who volunteered their time and skills, we have faithfully and consistently met on Tuesday mornings at 7:00 am (men) and Friday mornings at 7:00 am (women) to study Ezekiel and Isaiah, respectively.
