I remember hearing my mother reading L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz aloud as a child.
Maybe you’ve seen the 1939 classic film version, starring Judy Garland. or its musical prequel, the smash hit Wicked. Oklahoman Kristen Chenowith played Glinda, the Good Witch of the South when Wicked made its Broadway debut in 2003.
The differences between Baum’s book, written in 1900, and its later film and Broadway versions may seem minor, but they’re not.
