New Year’s Resolutions have been around for centuries.

If there were only one “I resolve” worthy of your commitment, it should be this:

Put GOD first, others second, and yourself third in 2024

Erik Liddell, the Scottish Olympic champion and devout Christian, delivered a powerful sermon at Scots Kirk Parish in Paris on Sunday, July 6, 1924,

As Erik preached, the 100-meter Olympic preliminaries, a race that was Erik’s specialty, began at the Olympics.

But Sunday was a day strictly set aside by Erik for worship.

Erik refused to compromise his principles. He chose not to participate in the 100-meter race. Instead, he decided to compete in the 400 meters, an event for which he had not specifically trained.

Before the race, Liddell delivered a sermon at Scots Kirk, emphasizing his commitment to honoring the LORD and expressing his trust in God above all other things.
