“You, LORD, desire truth in my innermost being” - Psalm 51:6

A couple of subscribers to Wade Burleson at Istoria Ministries ask that I explain Project 2025 in simple terms and why liberals are so upset about it.

So, here you go.

Ronald Reagan was inaugurated as the 40th president of the United States on Monday, January 20, 1981.

In the winter of 1980, a relatively new conservative think tank called The Heritage Foundation published a 20-volume, 3000-page publication called Mandate for Leadership: Policy Management in a Conservative Administration.

The Mandate contained more than 2,000 individual suggestions to move the federal government in a conservative direction, focusing on management and administration.

Its three primary goals included:

  1. Smaller government.

  2. Free market economics.

  3. A robust national defense.

The Heritage Foundation handed President-elect Ronald Reagan’s transition team a summary of the Mandate for Leadership, which Reagan’s team used to establish a new, conservative direction for the United States of America.

Fast Forward to the 2024 Presidential Election

When the 2024 Republican Primaries began on January 15, 2024, many Republicans and Democrats believed Ron Desantis would be the Republican frontrunner to receive the presidential nomination.

Even conservatives like Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, former Trump White House Staff staff member Alex Gray, and other high-profile Republicans backed Ron Desantis in the 2024 Republican primaries.

The Heritage Foundation, anticipating a 2025 inauguration of a conservative President like DeSantis, sought to replicate what they’d accomplished through the Reagan administration four decades earlier.

When Desantis announced his candidacy for President in 2023, the Heritage Foundation went to work.

Project 2025 was born.

The Heritage Foundation stated its goal for Project 2025.

The long march of cultural Marxism through our institutions has come to pass. The federal government is a behemoth, weaponized against American citizens and conservative values, with freedom and liberty under siege as never before. The task at hand is to reverse this tide and restore our Republic to its original moorings.

President Donald Trump and White House Staff Member Alex Gray.

Trump No Fan of Project 2025

What I’m about to write may not please some of my friends who support Donald Trump. You believe he’s a conservative candidate with conservative values.
