“Do not be afraid. God is testing you.” Exodus 20:20
The world changed four years ago today, on March 11, 2020. It was a Wednesday.
The government began taking the position of God in the minds of the American people.
I will never forget what happened. I had just finished teaching the spiritual meanings of the biblical numbers 24, 40, 70, 143, and 1000 at our weekly Bible study at Emmanuel Enid. It was my last Wednesday night Bible study for more than a year.
Americans succumbed to fear of a new disease called Covid-19.
People began turning to the United States government for their protection.
National officials canceled the National Basketball Association (NBA) game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Utah Jazz, which was to begin at 7:05 pm Central Time. Watch the confusion in real time here:
And from that night through the rest of 2020 and most of 2021:
Americans accepted government welfare in place of work.
Americans accepted a government vaccine program with no critical thinking.
Americans accepted skyrocketing government debt without objection.
Americans accepted a socialist cultural change in the name of “social justice.”
Americans accepted a new narrative about individual liberty and state tyranny.
Americans accepted government in place of the transcendent Creator God.
From the very beginning, I have been outspoken against cultural change in the United States of America. I have stayed consistent. When one lives by principle, people's objections are always secondary.
Whether it be a fearful mother, a scared employee, an anxious neighbor, an apprehensive church member, or a timid citizen, the COVID-19 crisis of 2020-2022 revealed we have a culture full of people who don’t turn to the sacred Scriptures for guidance and comfort.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” - II Timothy 1:7.
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was a lifelong Episcopalian. As a child, he became a member of St. James’ Church in Hyde Park (New York), even though he didn’t much care for the church or institutional religion at the time. His father was on the vestry, and FDR would later become a vestry member as an adult. The President was loyal to his church.
When FDR won the 1932 Presidential election, America had just come out of the worst period in its 150-year history. The Great Depression was still in full force; people were dying young due to disease, lack of nutrition, and the recently concluded World War One (“The War to End All Wars”).
The President knew that fear was the greatest enemy of the American culture. His 1933 Inaugural speech is a classic. If you don’t listen to the Scriptures, maybe you’ll listen to a former President, even a political “liberal,” who understood the power of fear to cripple a nation.
“I am certain that my fellow Americans expect that on my induction into the Presidency I will address them with a candor and a decision which the present situation of our Nation impels. This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor do we need to shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive, and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself–nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror that paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again support leadership in these critical days.” (Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1933)
The next six months may be very difficult for all Americans.
Don’t make the mistake of 2020. Trust not the government.
Fear not. Trust God.
I would have liked to have seen the next 5 or 10 minutes of that video of the stadium where the game did not happen! Just gauge the reaction of the crowd.
I do remember that when the "rules" started coming out, I started telling people (again) to read chapter 1 of Gulag Archipelago by Solzhenitsyn to get an idea of where government was headed, and why.
Thank you, Wade! We need the reminders!
Yes . sadly there were few Christian leaders exposing the beastly system in full operating power. Many were paid promoters of the scam. Thank you Wade for being one of the few exposing the works of darkness. .I was glad to,have learned early of the propaganda through researchers such as Katherine Watt and Sasha Latypova. Dr Mike Yeadon also is so Censored he is hard to find. I was so upset churches folded and bowed to Baal. Not only government did I not trust but churches going along with the psyop! And getting huge sums of money to do so. (PPP forgiveable loans). I wondered what they will do in the next plandemic . At my last church ( I never returned) 99% of the seniors took the bioweapon! Where is the discernment.? And their pastor didn’t warn them. And to this day no one has come clean about it. Just waiting for the injuries and deaths to appear. I don’t trust churches Wade . much less the government.
