New Orleans: Concealed Gun Laws Matter
The New Year's massacre is why I'll always carry a concealed weapon.

What happened in New Orleans in the early hours of New Year’s Day 2025 is why I will always carry a concealed weapon.
At least ten American citizens have died, and dozens more have been injured by a man (terrorist?) who barreled his truck down Bourbon Street, running over American citizens, and only coming to a stop because he ran into a construction crane.
What most people don’t realize is that after the murderer came to a stop, he exited his vehicle and began firing an automatic weapon (see video below).
My Love for New Orleans and Bourbon Street
Every year my wife and I join friends in New Orleans for the New Orleans Investment Conference.
We spend three days talking about finance during day meetings, but in the evening, we eat at some famous restaurants on Bourbon Street, including these restaurants:

After our dinner at these restaurants, we walk back to our hotel, the Hilton Riverside, moving along the length of Bourbon Street.
We all carry concealed weapons.
That’s as natural for us as making a reservation to eat.
The shootout that occurred today on Bourbon Street took place in front of Bourbon House, one of the restaurants where we’ve eaten. Another restaurant, Red Fish Grill, is only a few yards away. All the restaurants where we’ve enjoyed dinner have required us to walk down Bourbon Street where today’s massacre occurred.
