We who follow Jesus celebrate His resurrection from the dead every week, but Easter Sunday is a time for corporate recognition of this historic event.

You may think it unimportant to know when Jesus died, but if you take a few moments to read this post, I’ll convince you that Jesus died on a Thursday (not Friday), and I may help you comprehend why God accepts you based on His Son’s performance, not your own.

Christ’s resurrection is foundational to the Christian faith. The Scriptures declare that God delivers sinners by Christ’s death on the cross (Romans 3:25). If Jesus did not rise from the dead, then our hope in life after death is “in vain” (I Corinthians 15:14). Thus, without faith in Christ, it is impossible to please your Creator (Hebrews 11:6).

Many believe Christ died and rose from the dead without knowing when and why He died.
