‘And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people.’ Ezekiel 2:6

Rose bushes originally had ‘no thorns.’ Thorns are a symbol of man’s rebellion against GOD and His universal Laws, called ‘The Laws of Nature.’

Elon Musk is changing the culture of the United States government.

Musk is identifying the rot inside the United States government, the fraud and kickbacks in government expenditures, and he is recommending to President Trump that those responsible for the corruption be removed from their positions of government authority.

Ezekiel Reveals How To Deal with Corruption

Introduction to Ezekiel | Evidence Unseen

God called Ezekiel in 592 BC to be ‘A watchman of Israel,’ helping the nation of Israel to recover from their rebellion against God.

God told Ezekiel to ‘follow through with his call" by telling the people of Israel the truth about their rebellion. The truth - and acceptance of it - would reshape Israel, removing corrupt leaders and bringing people back to God.

However, the LORD told Ezekiel his job would not be easy.

‘Thorns and thistles are all around you.’ - Ezekiel 2:6

The Origin of Thorns and Thistles

Consider this fact:

Before Adam’s fall (Adam is Hebrew for ‘mankind,’ including both males and females), there were no rose bushes which had thorns or thistles.

Thorns were written by the Creator as code within the DNA of rose bushes, plants, and some trees (e.g. acacia tree), but the thorn DNA codes were suppressed genes, not appearing in Creation until man’s rebellion against the Creator.

In judgment for sin, God told Adam, ‘The earth will bring forth thorns and thistles’

Genesis 3:18

The thorns of the ‘acacia tree’ (shittim wood, King James Version).

Throughout the Bible, thorns and thistles represent the consequences of sin.

  1. There’s pain - Have you ever been stuck by a thorn? It hurts. So does rebellion against God. During his adulterous sin with Bathsheba, David cried, ‘I’m filled with searing pain; there’s no health in me’ - Psalm 38:7.

  2. There’s deception - The beauty of sin is like the beauty of a rose bush. From afar, it looks beautiful, sweet, and fragrant. But get close and you get stuck by thorns. ‘Corrupt people walk a thorny, treacherous road; whoever values life will avoid it’ Proverbs 22:5.

  3. There’s blood. Get stuck by a thorn and you’ll bleed. ‘For life is in the blood’ - Leviticus 17:11. The wages of sin is death’ - Romans 6:23. ‘There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is death’ - Proverbs 14:12. ‘Without shedding blood, there is no forgiveness of sins’ - Hebrews 9:22.

When Jesus the Messiah died on the cross, He wore ‘a crown of thorns.’ There is no better visual of Jesus taking the sins of those who trust Him upon Himself than Jesus wearing the ‘consequences of your sins (thorns)’ on His head as a crown.

What do ‘thorns and thistles’ have to do with Elon Musk and DOGE?
