Jesus said, ‘The poor you will always have with you’ - Matthew 26:11.

Jesus’ words should challenge Christians to personal generosity instead of desiring a welfare government. Limited government in our Constitutional Republic is designed to protect citizens' rights.

Caring for the poor is the church's job.

That's why the government created 'non-profit status' for churches. We make no profit as an institution because our role is to help the country in which we live by helping the poor out of their condition.

Ronald Reagan cautioned:

‘Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence’ (Los Angeles Times, January 7, 1970).

God challenges every citizen to work hard, give generously, and love deeply, making charity to others a private and voluntary act, not a governmental and forced tax.

This allows the government to use our taxes to focus on our Constitutional protection of life, liberty, and private property.
