BRICS is an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
This week (August 23-25, 2023), leaders of BRICS nations met in South Africa and added six new countries.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the USA has had hegemony over other countries because the American dollar has been the world’s reserve currency.
The 214 Central Banks around the world hold the world’s reserve currency in their vaults to trade assets like oil, imports/exports, government treasuries, etc.
