Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 – June 8, 1845) is my favorite President.
He was the seventh President of the United States, elected twice as President (1828 and 1832), serving from his inauguration on March 4, 1829, until his Farewell Address precisely eight years later, on March 4, 1837.
Jackson also became the founder of the Democratic Party.
He eclipses Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan for his political courage, but most of all, his remarkable conversion to faith in Jesus Christ at age 75, three years before his death.
Jackson once opined about his life, ‘I was created for a storm. Calm does not suit me.’
